A similar like for like boiler swap where you replace your old boiler with a new boiler of the same type and make no change to location, then your boiler installation should take 1 day. This is assuming there are no complications with the rest of your system already in your home.

New location

Moving a boiler to a new location could require the engineer to change the pipe run of existing pipes within your property and cap off existing pipework. Therefore, this could add approximately 0.5-1 day additional time onto the boiler installation.

System Upgrade

If you are changing the type of boiler as part of your new installation, this is what is known as a conversion or system upgrade. Depending on the type of boiler that you are changing from and too this can affect how long it will take the gas engineers to complete the installation.

If you were to chance from a conventional boiler to an efficient combi boiler, then the water storage tank will need to be fully drained and potentially removed from the property. Engineers will also need to re-pipe the central heating system to accommodate your new boiler, this typically is a minor job – if this was to be a lot of time this would be discussed as part of your quote.
